Dagashi Izakaya A-55 – Unique Izakaya in Umeda, Osaka
Dagashi in Japan means “Japanese Cheap Sweets" in English and is popular among children.
There’re many cheap and delicious sweets that we can buy for a few 10 yen, and we can eat them full with 300 yen.
And another fun part of dagashi is when we’re choosing them. When we’re looking for our favorite dagashi from all kinds of dagashi in a store, even adults are excited enough to forget about time.
“Dagashi Izakaya A-55" in Umeda, Osaka is a dream Izakaya for sweets lovers, with over 200 varieties of dagashi and ice cream being all-you-can-eat for 1 hour for the price of 500 yen.
I recommend this Izakaya to people who enjoyed gourmet food such as Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki and Kushikatsu during sightseeing in Osaka, but still want to play, eat and enjoy it until morning.
And you can experience another culture of Japan!
Let’s go to the dagashi Izakaya!
Dagashi Izakaya A-55 is located on the 4th floor of a downtown building, about a 10 minute walk from JR Osaka Station.
The yellow flag and children’s sign are the landmarks.
And if we go up to the 4th floor of the building and step into the shop, we’ll find another world!
By the way, the name “A-55" comes from “After 5 Go". ※5 and Go are pronounced the same way in Japanese.
Colorful interior!
When we enter the Izakaya, there’s a completely different space from the Izakaya we know.
Colorful dagashi and goods are lined up in small spaces. It’s like visiting a rich friend’s house!
A-55 is 500 yen for 1 hour and we can eat more than 200 kinds of dagashi and ice cream as much as we like. But drinks are charged extra and not only soft drinks but also alcohol is available.
There’s a food menu, and the most popular one among many menus is “Agepan (Fried bread)". This is the bread that all Japanese have eaten and love.
Please try it when you come to this Izakaya.
Enjoy yourself!
At the shop, we can play table games such as Othello game and UNO and nostalgic video games as much as we like.
It’s a cozy space, so we can get along with other customers and enjoy games.
Because of its nostalgia and fun, its posting on the Insta and SNS became a hot topic, and now many people visit here as a night spot for sightseeing in Osaka.
Please stop by the A-55 full of playfulness.
